Main Ingredients
- 1 lb Ground Beef
- 8 slices Rye Bread
- 4 slices Swiss Cheese
- 1 large Onion sliced
- 2 tablespoon Butter
Special Sauce
- ¼ cup Mayonnaise
- 2 tablespoon Ketchup
- 1 tablespoon Dill Pickle Relish
- 1 teaspoon Worcestershire Sauce
1. In a mixing bowl, combine the ground beef with salt and pepper. Form into 4 patties.
2. Heat a skillet over medium heat. Add butter and sliced onions. Cook until caramelized, about 10 minutes.
3. In the same skillet, cook the patties until desired doneness, about 4-5 minutes per side.
4. Mix all the special sauce ingredients in a bowl.
5. Assemble the patty melts: Spread special sauce on each slice of bread, add a patty, caramelized onions, and a slice of Swiss cheese. Top with another slice of bread.
6. Grill the assembled sandwiches in the skillet until the bread is toasted and the cheese is melted, about 2-3 minutes per side.
