Ingredients 

Main Ingredients

  • 1 lb Ground Beef
  • 8 slices Rye Bread
  • 4 slices Swiss Cheese
  • 1 large Onion sliced
  • 2 tablespoon Butter

Special Sauce

  • ¼ cup Mayonnaise
  • 2 tablespoon Ketchup
  • 1 tablespoon Dill Pickle Relish
  • 1 teaspoon Worcestershire Sauce

Instructions 

  1. 1. In a mixing bowl, combine the ground beef with salt and pepper. Form into 4 patties.
  2. 2. Heat a skillet over medium heat. Add butter and sliced onions. Cook until caramelized, about 10 minutes.
  3. 3. In the same skillet, cook the patties until desired doneness, about 4-5 minutes per side.
  4. 4. Mix all the special sauce ingredients in a bowl.
  5. 5. Assemble the patty melts: Spread special sauce on each slice of bread, add a patty, caramelized onions, and a slice of Swiss cheese. Top with another slice of bread.
  6. 6. Grill the assembled sandwiches in the skillet until the bread is toasted and the cheese is melted, about 2-3 minutes per side.
