Ingredients 

Main Ingredients

  • 2 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 small onion, finely chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • ½ cup vodka
  • 1 can crushed tomatoes (28 oz)
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • ½ cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • to taste salt and pepper
  • ¼ cup fresh basil, chopped

Instructions 

  1. 1. Heat the olive oil in a large saucepan over medium heat.
  2. 2. Add the chopped onion and cook until translucent, about 5 minutes.
  3. 3. Stir in the minced garlic and cook for another minute.
  4. 4. Pour in the vodka and let it simmer until reduced by half, about 5-7 minutes.
  5. 5. Add the crushed tomatoes and bring to a simmer. Cook for 10 minutes.
  6. 6. Stir in the heavy cream and cook for another 5 minutes.
  7. 7. Add the grated Parmesan cheese, salt, and pepper to taste. Stir until the cheese is melted and the sauce is smooth.
  8. 8. Remove from heat and stir in the chopped fresh basil.
  9. 9. Serve over your favorite pasta.
