- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 packet active dry yeast
- ¼ cup sugar
- ½ cup milk warmed
- ¼ cup butter melted
- 1 egg beaten
- 8 sausages fully cooked
1. In a mixing bowl, combine the flour, yeast, and sugar.
2. Add the warm milk, melted butter, and beaten egg. Mix until a dough forms.
3. Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 5 minutes, until smooth and elastic.
4. Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover, and let rise for 1 hour or until doubled in size.
5. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C). Roll out the dough and cut into 8 equal pieces.
6. Wrap each sausage in a piece of dough, pinching the seams to seal.
7. Place the kolaches on a baking sheet and bake for 15 minutes, or until golden brown.
