Ingredients 

Main Ingredients

  • 2 lbs Russet potatoes peeled and thinly sliced
  • 2 cups Heavy cream
  • 1 cup Grated Gruyere cheese
  • 2 cloves Garlic minced
  • 1 teaspoon Salt
  • ½ teaspoon Black pepper
  • ¼ teaspoon Nutmeg freshly grated

Instructions 

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a saucepan, heat the heavy cream with minced garlic, salt, pepper, and nutmeg until it simmers. Remove from heat.
  3. Layer half of the sliced potatoes in a greased baking dish. Pour half of the cream mixture over the potatoes and sprinkle with half of the grated Gruyere cheese.
  4. Repeat with the remaining potatoes, cream mixture, and cheese.
  5. Cover with foil and bake for 30 minutes. Remove the foil and bake for an additional 30 minutes, or until the top is golden and the potatoes are tender.
  6. Let it rest for 10 minutes before serving.
