- 1 cup celery, chopped
- 1 cup onion, chopped
- 1 cup butter
- 1 quart chicken broth
- 1 pint oysters, chopped
- 1 loaf stale bread, cubed
- 2 teaspoon poultry seasoning
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon black pepper
Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
In a large skillet, sauté celery and onion in butter until tender.
In a large mixing bowl, combine bread cubes, sautéed vegetables, and chopped oysters.
Gradually add chicken broth until the mixture is moist but not soggy.
Season with poultry seasoning, salt, and pepper.
Transfer mixture to a greased baking dish.
Bake for 45 minutes or until the top is golden brown.
