Ingredients 

Crust

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 0.5 teaspoon salt
  • 0.5 cup cold butter, cubed
  • 0.25 cup cold water

Filling

  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 cup beef broth
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 teaspoon dried thyme
  • 1 teaspoon dried rosemary
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 egg, beaten

Instructions 

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a bowl, mix flour and salt. Cut in butter until mixture resembles coarse crumbs. Stir in water until dough forms. Divide in half, wrap in plastic, and refrigerate.
  3. In a skillet, cook beef, onion, and garlic over medium heat until meat is no longer pink. Drain fat.
  4. Stir in broth, Worcestershire sauce, thyme, rosemary, salt, and pepper. Simmer for 5 minutes.
  5. Roll out half of the dough and fit into a 9-inch pie plate. Fill with meat mixture.
  6. Roll out remaining dough and place over filling. Seal and flute edges. Cut slits in top. Brush with beaten egg.
  7. Bake for 45-50 minutes or until golden brown. Let stand 10 minutes before serving.
