Ingredients 

Main Ingredients

  • 1 lb shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 1 lb crab meat
  • 1 cup onion, chopped
  • 1 cup bell pepper, chopped
  • 1 cup celery, chopped
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 can diced tomatoes (14.5 oz)
  • 4 cups chicken broth
  • 1 teaspoon thyme
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1 teaspoon cayenne pepper
  • 2 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 cup okra, sliced
  • 2 tablespoon gumbo file powder
  • to taste salt and pepper

Instructions 

  1. 1. Set Instant Pot to sauté mode and heat olive oil.
  2. 2. Add onion, bell pepper, celery, and garlic. Sauté until softened.
  3. 3. Add diced tomatoes, chicken broth, thyme, paprika, cayenne pepper, and okra. Stir well.
  4. 4. Secure lid and set Instant Pot to manual high pressure for 10 minutes.
  5. 5. Quick release pressure and open lid.
  6. 6. Add shrimp and crab meat. Stir and let sit for 5 minutes until seafood is cooked through.
  7. 7. Stir in gumbo file powder and season with salt and pepper to taste.
  8. 8. Serve hot over rice.
