Eggnog Recipe
A classic holiday drink made with eggs, milk, cream, and a touch of nutmeg.

Main Ingredients
- 4 cups milk
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 5 egg yolks
- ⅔ cup sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- ½ teaspoon ground nutmeg
- 1 cup rum or bourbon (optional)
In a saucepan, combine milk and heavy cream. Heat over medium heat until just simmering.
In a mixing bowl, whisk together egg yolks and sugar until light and creamy.
Slowly add the hot milk mixture to the egg mixture, whisking constantly.
Return the mixture to the saucepan and cook over medium heat, stirring constantly, until thickened.
Remove from heat and stir in vanilla extract and ground nutmeg.
Let cool, then refrigerate until chilled. Stir in rum or bourbon before serving, if using.
