Ingredients 

Main Ingredients

  • 6 cups Thinly sliced potatoes
  • 1 cup Chopped onion
  • 2 cups Grated cheddar cheese
  • 2 cups Milk
  • 2 tablespoon Butter
  • 2 tablespoon All-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon Salt
  • ½ teaspoon Black pepper

Instructions 

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a saucepan, melt butter over medium heat. Stir in flour, salt, and pepper until smooth. Gradually add milk. Bring to a boil, cook and stir for 2 minutes or until thickened.
  3. In a greased 2-½-qt. baking dish, layer half of the potatoes, onion, and cheese. Pour half of the sauce over the top. Repeat layers.
  4. Cover and bake for 45 minutes. Uncover; bake 10-15 minutes longer or until potatoes are tender.
